7 imagesInfernal Ball - world premiere This exciting cooperation between Derevo, the Germany-based Russian visual theatre, and Yvette Bozsik’s Company of 20 years standing was inspired by the music of world-famous Russian composer Alfred Schnittke, the dreamlike drawings of Chagall and the curious figures of Gogol. Bygone aristocrats, office boys, serfs and Chichikov, the official, meet at an infernal ball. They dance to the same music, which, like the stage production, is both grandiose and satirical. The director is Anton Adasinsky, the choreography is the work of Yvette Bozsik. The production is distinguished by Derevo’s individual approach, its visual flair and poetic sensitivity, as well as the use of commedia dell’arte elements. It also delves into issues of European identity, and for a good reason: the two companies first cooperated in 2004, the year Hungary joined the European Union. Music: Alfred Schnittke Set: József Pető, Tamás Vati Costume: Sosa Juristovszky Director: Anton Adasinsky Choreography: Yvette Bozsik
