In year 2011 Szazhalombatta about 30 km (18 miles) South-West from capital city Budapest organized the Modern Pentathlon World Cup for Men and Women in Hungary.

Penthatlon world cup involving the disciplines of fencing, swimming, horse riding, shooting and running.

ITU Triathlon World Championships held in Budapest. Competitors arrive to the city center by bike after swimming in the cold water of the river Danube and cycling through the Hungarian capital city then run to cross the finish line.
