Swarming of the the Long-tailed Mayfly (Palingenia longicauda) is a method of survival among the other animals. Large number of these insects swarm above the river Tisza in the one day mating period what is called the Blooming of Tisza or Tiszaviragzas in Hungarian. The mayfly larves live three years in the river banks under water level to become the fully developed animal living only for one day to mate with a counterpart from the other gender lay their eggs and die.
